North Stars at 2024 World Cup
World Cup Big Weekend for Loppet Foundation and Nordic Ski Community

The big event February 17-18, 2024, at Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis was attended by about 40,000 joyous nordic ski enthusiasts scattered across the hilly race course. North Stars club was fortunate to get a block of tickets in our exclusive North Star Ski Touring Club Cheer Zone, on the race course. New and current members were selected by lottery to participate. Home-town hero, Jessie Diggins came in third in the women's 10K and Gus Schumacher also on the USA team made history as the youngest and first man to win a nordic ski event in over a decade. Watch this space for photos of North Stars at the event.

Thanks go out to Craig Wiklund, Club Publicity Coordinator for an amazing job organizing our club participation.

Trail Stewardship

Every fall the club schedules trail-clearing trips to several Minnesota ski areas. Rolling up their
sleeves and brandishing hand tools, rakes and chainsaws, club members clear brush to get cross-country ski trails ready for the winter.

Schedule information is found on the Master Event Calendar

Donate to NSSTC Trail Development Fund

Donations to our Trail Fund are used to maintain and develop ski trails used by North Stars in Minnesota.  Each year teams of North Stars work on trimming, sawing, clearing, filling holes, building bridges, and other tasks to improve trails chosen by the club. Donated funds reimburse volunteers for travel expenses and purchase tools.

We are glad to add this additional process so that members and others can make donations to the Trail Fund anytime, outside of membership sign-up or renewal transaction.  Donate to Trail Development Fund

Note: The Trail Fund is separate from the North Star Grant Program that funds projects proposed by organizations.
